Urban Venus & The Calgary Opera October 15 2013

CALGARY OPERA is excited to announce the release of an exclusive nail polish collection – Be Seduced – in celebration the company’s 2013-14 Season of Seduction.

Partnering with Calgary Opera is Urban Venus Nail Bar, once named in FLARE Magazine as “Where to Get Polished” in Canada. “We were thrilled when asked to be involved in this unique project to develop merchandise for Calgary Opera,” says Urban Venus founder, Rachel Ong.  “Urban Venus jumped at the chance to custom blend colours to match the synergy of the season’s three operas.” The Be Seduced collection includes three polishes packaged in a decorative box and will retail for $35.  Each colour represents one of Calgary Opera’s mainstage productions – a ruby red for The Italian Girl from Algiers, a sky blue for The Flying Dutchman and a delicate cream for the exquisite Madame Butterfly. This fashion-forward way to support Calgary Opera will be available November 15th online at www.calgaryopera.com, at Urban Venus Nail Bar locations and at Calgary Opera performances throughout the season while supplies last.  All polishes are toluene, dpt & formaldehyde free and come in stylish Italian glass bottles – a wonderful memento or special gift.                 About Calgary Opera: Founded in 1972, Calgary Opera’s Mission is  “To Engage our Audience and Enhance our Community through the Magic of Opera.”  On the mainstage, Calgary Opera produces a subscription season of three full-scale operas at the 2,400-seat Jubilee Auditorium, complimented by a series of opera-related events and fundraisers.  August 2013 saw the addition of a outdoor summer opera festival – the first in Canada.  Calgary Opera has made a name for itself as a company committed to the development of Canadian talent and the development of new opera works.  Its outreach and education programs keep the company connected with the community.
